Dr Uma Sharma

Dr. Uma Sharma is a visionary drug developer recognized for her strengths in business as a national finalist and winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year award for Michigan (2020). Dr. Sharma has successfully led several global applications, including rare disease and orphan drug approvals. In collaboration with her data-focused teams, she has pioneered several new data and submission strategies, including using RWE in new drug applications.

Uma brings vision and leadership to the organization and supports community efforts as a member of the MichBio board. Her strengths, in particular, are around defining the corporate culture and team efficiencies and establishing a customer- and patient-focused global organization. Under Uma’s leadership, MMS has received multiple awards, including Best Places to Work.

Dr. Sharma earned her doctorate in pharmacology from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan.
